In a remarkable show of respect and collaboration, the Student Executives of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti (EKSPOLY), led by their president, Comrade Olawuyi Peter Idowu, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Adejuwon Gabriel, F.C.T.I., C.F.R. (Adetila Ilufemiloye I), the Onisan of Isan Ekiti, on Thursday, 20th September 2024.
The visit aimed at strengthening ties between the Polytechnic and the traditional leadership of Isan Ekiti while seeking fatherly advice to foster growth and sustainable development in the institution and the community at large. During the engagement, the monarch expressed his support for the students and the institution, emphasizing the importance of good leadership and positive representation.
Oba Adejuwon Gabriel encouraged the students to be worthy ambassadors of EKSPOLY, upholding its image and working as agents of positive change. He highlighted the role of students in promoting academic success and community development, urging them to avoid actions that could tarnish the school's reputation.
The monarch also made some significant promises that could positively impact both the school and the town. His Royal Majesty’s words of motivation and encouragement left a lasting impression on the delegation, who described the interaction as both inspiring and enlightening.
Speaking on behalf of the student body, Comrade Olawuyi Peter Idowu thanked the Onisan for his warm reception and counsel. "We are grateful for the wisdom and guidance of His Royal Majesty. This visit has not only strengthened our resolve to contribute to the growth of EKSPOLY but also to the development of Isan Ekiti," he said.
The visit was also attended by Comrade Joseph Felix, Secretary, and Comrade Ale Joseph, Public Relations Officer, who echoed the sentiments of gratitude and pledged to uphold the values of the institution in their respective roles.
The students left with a renewed sense of responsibility and a clear mandate to work towards sustainable progress, both for the Polytechnic and the Isan Ekiti community
