The advocacy tour of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, led by the Polytechnic Registrar, Mr. Gbenga Olorunsola, took the team to 5 different local government councils today.

The team's journey covered Ekiti West Local Government, Aramoko Ekiti; Efon Local Government, Efon Alaaye; Ijero Local Government, Ijero Ekiti; Ẹsọ ọbẹ Local Council Development Area; and Ado West Local Council Development Area, Omisanjana, Ado Ekiti.

At each stop, Mr. Olorunsola highlighted the Polytechnic's vital role in establishing an educational hub in these regions. He passionately appealed for their support, particularly in sponsoring the youths to access the technical and vocational training offered by the Polytechnic.

The first point of call was Ekiti West Local Government, where the council chairman, Hon. Omojola Moses Akin, represented by his vice, Elder Isaac Fatoyinbo, praised the initiative as a first of its kind and pledged to support it, including the sponsorship of students. The Vice Chairman, from his own purse, announced sponsorship for four students and plans to extend awareness throughout the local government.

At Efon Local Government Area, the Chairman, Hon. Afọlábí Segun, who expressed intentions to explore partnership opportunities with the Polytechnic, said the management staff will look into the initiative with the promise to encourage youths in his council to choose the Polytechnic in the next JAMB registration.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Ijero Local Government Area, Hon. Folowesele Abayomi, applauded the initiative as enlightening and committed to personally sponsoring two students, while the council would sponsor three or more.

Also, at Ẹsọ ọbẹ Local Council Development Area, the council chairman, Hon. Ayeni Bankole Moses, commended the polytechnic's efforts, noting the affordability of the tuition fee as a motivation. He, however, promised to key into the initiative.

Concluding the tour at Ado West Local Council Development Area, Chairman Hon. Aladesanmi Adebolu also showed a keen interest in partnering with the Polytechnic.

This tour marks a significant step in Ekiti State Polytechnic's efforts to strengthen technical and vocational education in the region, receiving widespread support from local government leaders. The commitments made by these councils to sponsor students will provide increased opportunities for youth in Ekiti State to access specialized education and training.
