In continuation of its advocacy visit to different local government council areas to promote technical and vocational education, the management team of Ekiti State Polytechnic, led by the Registrar, Mr. Gbenga Olorunsola, today visited Ekiti South West Local Government Area in Ilawe Ekiti and Ifedara LCDA at Igbemo
Addressing the local government management teams, the Registrar emphasized the critical role of the Polytechnic in shaping an educational hub within the region. He passionately appealed for their support, particularly in sponsoring the youths to access technical and vocational training
In their separate responses, Chairman of Ekiti South West Local Government, Hon. Richard Apolola Gbenga, represented by the Head of Local Administration, Mrs. Victoria Modupe Fase commended the Polytechnic's initiative. He highlighted the significance of investing in human development and expressed enthusiasm for a collaborative partnership with the institution.
Also, the chairman of Ifedara LCDA, Hon. Lawrence Sunday Ogunsanya lauded the move of the polytechnic as it is in line with his agenda for his people. He therefore expressed eagerness to partner with the institution, saying he would promote the educational drive during community engagement to be held in each community under his watch with effect from Wednesday, 24th January, 2024.
This visit marks a crucial step in strengthening the relationship between educational institutions and local governance, aiming to foster a skilled workforce that can contribute significantly to the region's progress. The Ekiti State Polytechnic’s outreach initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance educational standards and promote technical skills among the youth, aligning with national educational goals.
