The Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, is making significant progress in its statewide advocacy tour, under the leadership of the institution's Registrar, Mr. Gbenga Olorunsola. On Friday, January 26, 2024, the team visited four local government areas, marking a notable stride in their campaign to foster educational development.
The tour included stops at Ikole West Local Council Development Area in Asin, Ikole Local Government Area in Ikole Ekiti, Ifeloju Local Council Development Area in Ilupeju Ekiti, and Oye Local Government Area in Oye Ekiti, engaging with local leaders to discuss educational initiatives and collaboration opportunities.
In Ikole West LCDA, Asin, the Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Mosúnmọ́lá Adeyemo, expressed a strong willingness to support the polytechnic's initiative, aligning with the six-point agenda of the state governor. This move is seen as a significant step towards educational enhancement in the area.
At Ikole Local Government Area, Chairman Hon. Bayo Omojola showcased interest in sponsoring students for the next academic year. He underscored the importance of vocational training programmes offered by Ekiti State Polytechnic and pledged to partner with the institution in this regard.
Furthering the tour's success, Hon. Oniyelu Olusola, the chairman of Ifeloju LCDA in Ilupeju Ekiti, emphasized the local council's commitment to the initiative, marking another positive response to the polytechnic's outreach efforts.
The tour concluded with a visit to Oye Local Government Area in Oye Ekiti, where the council Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Bamisile Adesola, promised collaboration with the institution, reinforcing the widespread support for the polytechnic's mission across the council.
The series of visits and ensuing commitments from local government leaders underscore the growing recognition of the importance of educational development in Ekiti State. The Ekiti State Polytechnic's advocacy tour is not only strengthening ties with local governments but also paving the way for enhanced educational opportunities and community development in the region.
