Ekiti State Polytechnic Celebrates the Exit of Pioneer Rector, Prof. Johnson Kayode Adesodun*

Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, celebrated the exit of its pioneer Rector, Prof. Johnson Kayode Adesodun, whose five-year tenure came to an end on August 31, 2024. The grand ceremony, held at the New 250 Capacity Lecture Theatre, was well-attended by the Polytechnic's Principal Officers, academic and non-academic staff, and students.

The event began with an opening remark by the Polytechnic Registrar, Mr. J.A.O Olorunsola, who highlighted the numerous achievements of Prof. Adesodun during his tenure. Mr. Olorunsola praised the outgoing Rector for his outstanding leadership and his role in pioneering the institution since its establishment in 2019. He described Prof. Adesodun as a visionary leader who managed the Polytechnic with a progressive mindset, steering it towards remarkable growth and development.

Throughout the ceremony, various departments, units, unions, and students showered encomiums and goodwill messages on Prof. Adesodun, acknowledging his dedication and wishing him success in his future endeavors.

In his valedictory speech, Prof. Adesodun expressed his gratitude to the management, staff, and students for their unwavering support during his time in office. He reflected on the journey of the Polytechnic and expressed confidence in the institution’s continued progress.

Adding a vibrant touch to the event, the Polytechnic’s cultural troupe delivered a captivating performance, further elevating the celebratory atmosphere of the occasion.

The ceremony marked the end of an era for Ekiti State Polytechnic under the leadership of Prof. Adesodun, leaving a legacy of excellence as the institution looks forward to a new chapter.
