The Rector of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, on Thursday October 3, 2024, embarked on a familiarization and inspection tour of the Polytechnic farm. The tour aimed to assess the current state of various agricultural projects and facilities on the farm, a key component of the Polytechnic’s academic and practical training in agriculture.
The Rector was conducted round the various sections of the farm by the Head of Department, Agricultural Technology, Dr. Akinsuyi, and the Polytechnic Farm Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Fagbemi. The tour covered the fish farm, crop farm, pig farm, poultry unit, goat and sheep farm, and the garri processing unit.
During the visit, Dr Ajeigbe commended the efforts of the farm staff in maintaining the farm and expressed his vision to enhance the Institution’s agricultural programme, further integrating practical skills with classroom knowledge to produce competent graduates in the field of agriculture.
Also present during the tour were the Polytechnic Bursar, Mr. Johnson Oludayo Awe, the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. J.A. Akerele, and other senior staff members.
The visit marks the beginning of Dr. Ajeigbe's efforts to engage with the Institution's facilities and ensure their optimal operation for the benefit of students and staff alike.
