The Rector of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, has emphasized the need for a comprehensive reorientation of Nigerian youths to foster attitudinal change and uphold societal values for national progress.

Dr. Ajeigbe made this call on Thursday, April 3, 2025, during a courtesy visit by the Ekiti State chapter of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to the institution. The visit was part of NOA’s sensitization program aimed at enlightening staff and students on societal values and government policies.

Addressing the gathering, the Ekiti State Director of NOA, Mrs. Oluwakemi Akomolede, urged students to be good ambassadors of their families and the nation by exhibiting positive values and character within and beyond the school environment. She emphasized the importance of rejecting cultism, violence, and vandalism while advocating for peaceful dialogue as a conflict-resolution strategy.

Furthermore, Mrs. Akomolede advised students to embrace self-reliance by acquiring entrepreneurial skills, shun internet fraud and other sharp practices, and remain vigilant by reporting suspicious activities. She also encouraged them to develop a patriotic. mindset by prioritizing contributions to national development over self-interest.

Dr. Ajeigbe commended the initiative, reaffirming the Polytechnic’s commitment to fostering a morally upright and skill-driven generation. He urged students to internalize the lessons from the sensitization campaign, noting that national transformation begins with individuals making ethical choices.

The engagement emphasized the critical role of reorienting the youth in shaping a responsible and value-driven society.
