The Rector of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, has called on the sons and daughters of the Iṣan Ekiti community to deepen their patronage and partnership towards the growth and development of the Polytechnic. He stressed that the involvement of Iṣan Ekiti indigenes would be crucial in elevating the Polytechnic to greater heights in the near future.
The Rector made this appeal on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 during a courtesy visit from the Iṣan Ekiti Progressive Union (IPU), led by their Vice President III, Prof. Matthew Oluwamukomi, alongside other executive members of the Union. During the visit, Dr. Ajeigbe emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Polytechnic and the local community, noting that the development of affordable housing would not only benefit staff and students but would also boost the local economy.
Prof. Oluwamukomi, in his address, pledged the unwavering support of the entire Iṣan Ekiti community towards the development of the institution. He assured the Polytechnic management that the sons and daughters of Iṣan Ekiti would be encouraged to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the institution, as the Polytechnic's success is deeply intertwined with the prosperity of the community.
In his vote of thanks, the Polytechnic Registrar, Mr. J.A.O. Olorunsola, expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated the need for continued community support. He urged the community to consider constructing affordable residential houses for the staff and students of the Institution, highlighting the pressing need for accessible accommodation within the locality
The visit culminated with the presentation of a gift item to the Rector on behalf of the Iṣan Ekiti indigenes, as a gesture of goodwill and solidarity.
Also present at the meeting was the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. J.A. Akerele.
The partnership between Ekiti State Polytechnic and the Iṣan Ekiti community promises to foster further development and mutual benefits, particularly as the institution continues to strive for academic and infrastructural excellence.
