EKSPOLY enhances Security Measures Amidst Rising Insecurity

In response to the prevailing insecurity across the country, the management of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, has unveiled robust security plans aimed at ensuring the safety of its campus community.

The management of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, has announced plans to bolster security and maintain peace on campus amidst growing concerns over security challenges across the country. 

This decision was revealed during the inaugural meeting of the security and intelligence committee, chaired by the Polytechnic Rector and Prof. Johnson Adesodun. The meeting was held at the Polytechnic on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

The committee outlined key measures to enhance security, including the installation of a surveillance system and the construction of perimeter fencing around the campus. These initiatives aim to fortify the campus and protect students, staff, and facilities from potential security threats.

Furthermore, the management emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive relationship with cattle herders in and around the institution to prevent any potential conflicts. Additionally, plans are underway to implement the intra-roads on the Polytechnic master plan, which includes installing security lights across the campus to enhance visibility and safety at night.

In his contribution, the divisional police officer, Isan Division, SP Oyewusi James, said the police in the division are more proactive in their information and intelligence gathering, urging the Polytechnic community to always report  any suspicious movement to the police.
