EKITI STATE POLYTECHNIC HOSTS CAREER MASTERY WORKSHOP TO BOOST STUDENTS’ EMPLOYABILITY*

In a bid to enhance the career readiness and employability of its students, Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, on Thursday hosted a one-day Career Service Capacity Training Workshop at the institution’s 250-Capacity Lecture Theatre.

The event, themed “Career Mastery: A Guide to Success,” was organized by Lightgate Educational Consult Nigeria Limited in collaboration with the Career Service Development Centre of the Polytechnic.

Students and staff from various departments participated in the workshop, which was designed to provide practical insights into career planning, workplace skills, and strategic job search techniques.

Declaring the workshop open, the Desk Officer of the Career Service Development Centre, Dr. (Mrs.) G.O. Adeleye welcomed participants and charged them to take the workshop seriously. She emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge gained to their academic pursuits and future careers.

Dr. Adeleye said that it was a session designed to equip the participants for the journey ahead both academically and professionally.

The workshop featured seasoned facilitators who delivered sessions on key topics such as: Introduction to Career Centre Management and Mentoring, Career Development and Employability Skills Training, and CV Writing and Job Application Strategies

The interactive sessions offered participants the opportunity to ask questions, receive personalized guidance, and engage in practical exercises aimed at bridging the gap between education and employment.

Speaking after the workshop, several students expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that it had opened their eyes to new career possibilities and taught them how to position themselves effectively in the job market.

The Career Service Development Centre of Ekiti State Polytechnic has continued to lead efforts in preparing students for life after graduation through trainings, partnerships, and career mentorship programmes. Thursday’s event is yet another testament to the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also professionally competitive.
