YOUWIN Initiative Empowers Ekiti State Poly Community for Federal Government Loan Opportunities*

Students and staff of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, on Friday, August 8, 2025, received strategic insights on how to develop their business ideas into viable ventures capable of attracting federal government loans and expanding into sustainable enterprises.

The sensitization programme, championed by the Federal Ministry of Finance through the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWin) initiative, focused on empowering participants to become self-reliant and employers of labour, with potential funding support from the Bank of Industry.

During the session, the Project Consultant and Project Supervisor took participants through various aspects of life and business development that could enhance their entrepreneurial potential. The interactive programme featured a robust question-and-answer segment, where students and staff sought practical guidance on growing their ideas into profitable ventures.

Representing the Rector, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, the Deputy Rector, Mr. E.A. Ajayi commended the initiative, stressing the Polytechnic’s commitment to producing graduates who can create jobs rather than depend on them. Other principal officers present included the Registrar, Mrs. A.Y. Adewunmi, and the Bursar, Mr. O.J. Awe.

The programme ended with a call to action for participants to leverage the knowledge gained to access funding opportunities and contribute to national economic growth.
